Ayurvedic Basic to Moderate
An ancient system of health from India, Ayurveda recognises that the way something tastes in our mouths affects our moods and influences our sense of well-being. Preparing balanced meals the Ayurvedic way includes a unique and highly satisfying combination of six tastes: sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bitter and astringent. In this class you'll learn how to use different foods to bring your body into harmony with your mind. It's a class about nourishment on all levels - physical, mental and spiritual. Ayurvedic cooking has a reverence not only for nutritious food and the health benefits it can provide, but also for the manner in which it is prepared. The belief is that the simple act of eating creates a ritual of celebration.
